CLINICAL SKILLS:

Functional and motility disorders

  • Dr. Harshad Joshi is competent in performing and interpreting Esophageal Manometry, Anorectal Manometry, Hydrogen Breath tests and 24 hr Ambulatory pH and pH impedance testing
  • Well versed in performing Biofeedback therapy for patients with defecatory Disorders, Supragastric belching

Management of Gastrointestinal bleeding

  • Adequate management of acute variceal and non- variceal Upper gastrointestinal tract bleeding: Skilled in procedures like Esophageal variceal band ligation, fundal variceal glue injection, hemoclip application, thermal co-aptive coagulation
  • Insertion of SB tubes in management of UGI bleed
  • Management of lower intestinal bleeding: skilled in therapeutic colonoscopic procedures- polypectomy, hemorrhoidal band ligation, hemorrhoidal sclerotherapy, Argon plasma coagulation (APC)

Luminal stenting / diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy

  • Have performed placement of more than 50 esophageal and colonic stents
  • About 200 Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) tube placement during and after GI training
  • Insertion of nasojejunal tubes under fluoroscopic guidance in acute pancreatitis patients
  • Competent in performing diagnostic Upper GI endoscopy, Sigmoidoscopy and Colonoscopy
  • Competent in performing diagnostic and therapeutic balloon assisted enteroscopies for evaluation of small bowel disorders
  • Competent in basic Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) procedures for choledocholithiasis, cholangiocarcinoma etc.
  • Well versed with basic medical procedures like central line insertions, dialysis catheter insertion, endotracheal intubation, Diagnostic and therapeutic ascitic and plural paracentesis
